A Week of Firsts...

We recently eclipsed Emerson's First-Week mark (actually approaching the two-week mark) and an exciting week it was!

Emerson had many firsts his first week…

First Test - His hearing test which he passed with flying colors (okay, I'm bragging already).

First Surgery - A "little boy" surgery that I cringe when I think about and hope he never remembers. I'm happy to report that the "ring" fell off yesterday! No pictures, as I want no evidence/reminders for him.

First Car Ride - A successful trip home from the hospital in the car-seat that we had installed at the fire station. (I'm still not completely sure why we couldn't do it ourselves, but oh well).

First Night in His Own Room - He seems so little in his crib. And although it may be his own room, I think Mom and Dad (well, mainly Mom) spend just as much time in there.

First Walk - Emerson seems to love being outside in his stroller, and Mom & Dad love being outside too! Hopefully we still have some nice weather ahead of us!

Cold weather walks call for the below outfit...
... so friggin' cute.

First Bath - Well, not so much a bath as a sponge-dripping of sorts.
Not sure if Emerson is a fan of hygiene yet - that or he was super excited in the below pic.

First Visit to the Drs Office - Mom and Dad really liked the doctor we chose for Emerson, and he liked her so much he tried to pee on her - what a charmer already.
In the below pic, Emerson demonstrates his anxiety level prior to the doctor's appointment.

First Projectile Pee - First "almost" successful projectile pee was at the doctor's office - man she was quick! He has since successfully peed on both Mom and Dad - not so quick.

First Projectile Poop - In the middle of the night. Despite its disgustingness, it was pretty impressive. Overall, Dad is quite impressed with Emerson's gaseous abilities - definitely an Amrich. And if you're grossed-out or surprised when reading this - you probably shouldn't be reading this blog (maybe this one instead).

It seems as though every second of every day creates another "first" moment, and there have undoubtedly been many more firsts so far in Emerson's early life - for both him and Mom and Dad - each one as precious and exciting as the next.

Here's to looking forward to celebrating many more firsts!
