Emerson had his two month check up today. He was 13 lb. 9 oz. and 24.5 inches long. Everything was going well until he had to get three shots; both mom and son cried. (Dad conveniently had to step out of the doctor's office to take part in a conference call right at that point!!)
Check out Emerson's battle wounds, or better yet, his marks of bravery...
Emerson was dedicated at church today. During the service we were informed that his name means "peaceful dweller," and we were given a blanket inscribed with his initials and Psalm 29:11, The Lord will give strength to his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.
The Lord has truly blessed us with Emerson. We are so thankful for our son and the gift of parenthood. We pray for God's help as we try to raise Emerson into the man He wants him to be.
Emerson was 8 weeks old on Tuesday. We've been busy playing, singing, and reading. But our most exciting news is that Emerson has been smiling and laughing for the last couple of weeks. Check out our little guy's big grin!
Emerson and I have been staying with my parents/his grandparents this week while Brian has been working in Michigan. We've been very busy having a great time. Today, we played and napped and then went to lunch at Ketchie Creek, where Renna weighed Emerson on the baker's scale. Evidently, I didn't need to be worried about him not gaining weight. My little pumpkin weighed in at almost 12 pounds!
